How is Eyelid Aesthetics Turkey Done?

 

 

How is eyelid aesthetic Turkey surgery performed after deciding to have eyelid surgery?

1 week before the operation: Your doctor recommends that you stop taking blood thinners, and if you have to use them, switch to blood thinners, such as low molecular weight heparin, which the relevant branch doctor recommends before the operation.
1 day before the operation: The information specified in the pre-operative consent form is given. The patient’s expectations are listened : Removal of the sagging eyelid skin, increasing the visual field, obtaining a better aesthetic result. If the operation will be performed in the hospital or under general anesthesia, preoperative blood tests, ECG and other necessary tests are performed.
On the day of the operation:

1) Photograph (pre-operation is determined by taking the photo of the previous state of the patient

4) Checking that the payments are made before the surgery

5) If the surgery is to be performed under general anesthesia, the Anesthesiologist examination is performed respectively. About 30 minutes before the operation, the patient is taken to the operating room. Here, after all equipment, devices and personnel are controlled. The patient is monitored with basic vitals signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation (SPO2). If the patient is to be operated under general anesthesia, general anesthesia drugs are applied to the patient, and an oxygen mask is brought closer to his face. After this stage, operation begins. Local anesthetic drugs containing ephedrine (to reduce bleeding) are injected with fine-tipped needles into the surgical areas which are marked before the operation. Although isolated upper eyelid blepharoplasty can be performed with local anesthesia, combined surgeries such as lower eyelid blepharoplasty, brow lift and mid-face lift should be performed under general anesthesia. Then, the excess skin that marked before the operation is removed, the bleeding areas are cauterized, and the two ends of the cut skin are attached to each other with sutures after the bleeding is stopped. After the appropriate dressing is done, the operation is terminated.
If you are going to have surgery on your upper and lower eyelids, the surgeon will usually work on your upper eyelids first. It cuts the fold of the eyelid, removes excess skin, muscle, and possibly fat, and closes the incision.
In the lower eyelid, the surgeon makes a cut just below the lashes or inside the lower eyelid. He removes excess fat/muscle and redistributes the skin removing excess part and suturing the edges together.
If your upper eyelid droops close to your pupil, your surgeon may perform blepharoplasty with a procedure called ptosis (TOE-sis) correction, which provides additional support to the eyelid elevating muscle (levator palpebra superioris).
Only upper eyelid surgery takes an average of 1-2 hours. Combined surgeries such as brow lift or mid-face lift may take longer. If general anesthesia is taken after the surgery, discharge is done 1 day later, if it is performed under local anesthesia, 1-2 hours later. Single upper eyelid blepharoplasty surgery can be performed under local (numbing) anesthesia in the office setting, but we recommend that it be performed in a hospital setting and under general anesthesia in combinations such as brow lift or lower eyelid surgery.

2 days after the operation: In this period, the bruises around the eyes become more prominent, the skin continues to swell and become edematous. This process continues to worsen until the 3rd day on average. After an average of 3 days, edema begins to decrease. In the first 48 hours, it is very important to keep the blood pressure low, to apply cold compresses (ice), to keep the head higher than the bed level, not to perform sudden movements that will increase the pulse / blood pressure. If there is a blood pressure disease the medication should be taken.
During recovery period, it takes an average of 1-2 weeks for the bruises to pass, and an average of 4-6 weeks for the edema to pass. After eyelid surgery, your doctor will check you every 2-3 days for the first 5 days. He will show you how to change the dressing (applying antibiotic cream) to the eyelid stitches. If you have additional dressings and combined surgeries, they will also change the dressing and show you how to do it. You will be asked to use antibiotics and painkiller tablets for up to 5 days after the surgery. You will be asked to apply antibiotic eye drops and creams to your eyelid for 10 days after the surgery. Consult your doctor if any of these drugs cause an allergy or unexpected effect. If there is no complication after the operation, you can leave Istanbul after 5-6 days. Periodically, the doctor’s assistant may ask you to send the doctor a photo of your wound. Surgical scars will change over the months. In the first month, there may be color changes such as skin color, and then pink, purple, brown tones. In a normal health individual it takes 1-1.5 years for a skin incision scar to mature and take its final form.
The success of eyelid surgery treatment is highly correlated with postoperative care. Strictly follow your doctor’s recommendations so that your post-operative bruises pass quickly, edema passes quickly, and your scars heal in the least possible way. The use of cigarettes and other tobacco products after surgery prolongs the healing process, impairs wound healing and causes more scars. Therefore, even if it cannot be left, we recommend minimizing it.

Bruises: Having low blood pressure during and 1 day after eyelid surgery is associated with less bruising and less edema. Therefore, if you are using blood pressure medication, you should definitely tell your doctor about it and learn what time it should be used on the day of surgery. Do not disuse.
After the surgery, massaging with herbal gels (like arn**a..) can provide quick healing of bruises and edema. Ask your doctor how sensitive your stitches are and when to start the massage.
Infection: Getting an infection after eyelid surgery seriously impairs the scar. To prevent this, your doctor will give you tablets, drops and cream antibiotics applied orally and locally to the suture line. Be sure to use them for the recommended amount of time as recommended.
Allergy: Foreign bodies such as stitches, drugs, disinfectants, dressings used during the surgery may cause an allergic reaction (redness, swelling, blistering, etc.) in some people. In such complications, the healing process may be prolonged. If you have a known allergy, you must tell your doctor before the procedure.
Wound healing: There are unchangeable (age, gender, chronic diseases, etc.) and modifiable (nutrition, exercise, massage, smoking, etc.) factors that determine the postoperative wound healing rate. The replaceable ones are mechanisms that will result in more oxygen and nutrients coming to the wound. For example, walking after surgery increases blood circulation and accelerates wound healing. Or smoking cigarettes after surgery, as carbon monoxide binds to red blood cells, prevents oxygen transport and prolongs wound healing.

Recommendations After Eyelid Aesthetics

 

• • Apply ice packs to your eyes for 10 minutes every hour the night after surgery. The next day, apply ice packs to your eyes four to five times throughout the day.
  • Gently clean your eyelids and use recommended eye drops or ointments.
  • Avoid straining, heavy lifting and swimming for a week.

  • Avoid smoking.
